Admittedly this post is two years old because as I said here, I was very reluctant to do this blog and yet I feel it’s to precious to let go. Especially since I’m not sure we are going to be able to make this happen again this year. Due to the fact our two youngest granddaughters have moved to Arizona. (With their parents of course, LOL) So very grateful that we have had this one, and another one last year that I will share in another post. I hope you enjoy!!!
I have decided to do a annual tea party with some VERY IMPORTANT ladies…my granddaughters. While taking advantage of having them all at our house, we had a tea party. Consequently, Grandpa helped out tremendously in the kitchen. My daughter and daughter-in-law sent along beautiful dress attire for the event. In addition we found coordinating hats in the dress up closet. We were set for the special day.
The three older ones and I made the decorations(tissue paper flowers) the day before. Hence, that in itself was a lot of fun. Colors were chosen, and folding began. Soon our decorating work was complete.
Yet there was much more that needed to be done. Such as choosing just the right china. Pressing all the cloth napkins.(Ha Ha)
Most importantly, we needed to decide the menu.
Grilled cheese(cut with a cookie cutter shaped like a teapot)
Cheetos
cheese cubes
a dill pickle spear
For dessert,
a decorated cookie from the well known area bakery
By all means, we must not forget the after lunch butter-mints.
Furthermore, we needed elegant chair coverings. Therefore we quickly created the covers by cutting up a large table cloth, draping the cut pieces over the chairs and tying with a piece of silky material.
Finally, tucking in the edges as best as possible, and adding a table cloth.
The ladies all arrived in their beautiful dress attire. Let the PARTY BEGIN!!!
We precisely brewed the tea to the proper temperature. Well the tea was really yummy juice. LOL!! Finally we set the table.
The maitre’d escorted the ladies to their proper seats, actually they just sat down, but it sounded good.
Notice….the pinky
“Oh, excuse me”
No elbows on that table
Everyone enjoyed great conversation. The manners and prestigeous up bringing was very evident as the party continued.LOL
Furthermore, we had so much fun, can’t wait till next year. Already making plans. Lord willing we will have another one joining us, as our son and daughter-in-law are due real soon.
GRATEFUL
