As I shared in a earlier post, I found this rocking chair on the curb and literally screamed out loud, “STOP, I NEED THAT!!” I had seen these rocking chairs in catalogs, yet they were always over my budget. It had some tears in it, but all in all it was in good shape and I knew I was going to recover it anyway. “Need” was definitely not the case. Yet I had looked at them many times before, and with new grand babies a girl needs a rocking chair. Do you hear my pain? LOL!!
Being so excited I forgot to take a before picture, and we’re not even going to talk about the quality of the pictures. I think I should have turned on some more lights.
Furthermore I just started carefully removing the pieces and taking pictures so I could see how it was put on. In this case I wasn’t going to change anything, so I wanted the pattern to make it easier.
Once I had all the pieces off I had to cut out the new ones, do some sewing, put on new batting, etc. and then put it all back on. My hubby removed the rockers, sanded them down, and stained them. Then we put it all back together. I just used some fabric I already had. Sad to say I kinda have an obsession with fabric. So I always have many choices, if you know what I mean. LOL!! Hey it comes in handy. Always looking for a “good deal” on fabric.
Anyway; this was time consuming, yet very worth it, and very comfortable. Another great curb find, and blessing from God.
Rockin on 🙂
